Any recommendations for a 12v replacement horn?

AC or DC?
For DC, I like the new(er) Casa
Series 3 and
GP/dl horns. They look close to OEM and run fine on a 12v DC system. If you don't care about aesthetics then a generic motorcycle horn works fine.

AC or DC?
Not entirely sure to be honest.

Is it battery operated (DC) or not (AC)?

Back in the day(1970s), air horns used to be all the rage. Does no-one use them these days?

Scooter Restorations have a good selection including copy's of originals.
Depends on how authentic you want it.

I don’t think it’s possible to find a loud horn on an AC (non battery) scoot. What I did was attach a DC car horn (120 dB) on the kick stand strut under the leg shield. Ran it off a battery and used the original horn switch, using a relay hidden were the original horn was. So a low draw DC circuit for the switch, and a high draw circuit for the horn. As I rarely use the horn I put a battery charger on once a year, snd it’s good for a season.

Yep airhorns were great, if you had the tech expertise to rig them up. Needed a good battery set up but with right compressor you could get decent results. The AC horns were so bad back then that most dealers screwed a rubber bulb pike horn to the floor boards to pass the MOT (100% true story

). Love or hate air horns, at least they worked and did their job. Lambretta standard horn is useless (IMHO)
