Steering damper

Has anyone here fitted a steering damper on their vespa? I have seen a few examples of bikes with them either on the headset and attached to the frame, as well as the fork through the leg shield. Has anyone ever adapted one of these in a different location? It seems like it would be possible under the fork and attached to the frame without cutting any holes
