Hi fellas,
Is there an easy way to test a Lambretta rectifier is doing what it should? I.e. putting out 6 volts A/C whilst also putting out D/C to charge the battery?
Restoring a S2 TV2 and I’m trying to keep it original but want to make sure the rectifier works before I go down the battery route. My multimeter just jumps all over the place when the engines running and I’m trying to get a reading.
Cheers steve

The reg/rec does nothing for the AC (main lights) circuit, it's a balanced system, so the lamps wattage are matched to the full stator output.
The rectifier and selenium rectifier act only for the DC circuits and battery charging. The best way to test this is to connect to a battery and measure the amperage through it at various revs.

Thanks firekdp, doesn’t it regulate the AC output? Also I wanted to test it before I went down the battery loom route.
Can I find a way just to check the outputs?
Cheers steve
