urgent help required!

I took my scoot out tonight , it was running fine - just round the block didn't thrash it at all, i pulled over to faff about with my gps and the engine stopped suddenly and was solid when i tried to kick it, it eventually kicked over but compression was down and it wouldnt start.
pushed the bloody thing home and stripped it down to find the ring/s had snagged on the exhaust port.
The top end is a rapido 225 - i'd like to hear if anyone knows why this could have happened?
I also need to get a new piston and rings tomorrow if possible (i think the barrel has survived) where am i likely to get them from ? I am in Newark,Notts and can travel a reasonable distance to get it - possibly thinking MB?
Any suggestions?

Cheers Smithy - will try beedies - i'll have to eat my words after spitting my dummy out with them a while ago
I've just noticed the piston is an escorts piston - any opinions on these?

No Paul I was in panic mode
I'm hoping to get it sorted ready for Darlo on Saturday so if I get it delivered Thursday I should be fine.
As Smithy said they have them in beedies - interestingly though they have one listed for £37.99 and an asso for £99.99 - i'll bet any money the 37.99 is an escorts version
I may not be round for that oil by the way - I might not need it now
Cheers

My opinion and thoughts:-
Escorts/ Mahle made in India under licence and I understand that Mahle 'took over' Borgo
I believe most Indian GP engines have Mahle copy pistons fitted and while not the best of items they are OK for general road use but not the No 1 choice on a Rapido
Is it the three cast iron ring version?

I think I may just do that - no need to pull sicky - i'll just pretend I'm somewhere that I'm not

No its only a 2 ring jobby - but definately an escorts piston which I think is the culprit

I would think that if it has cast rings then definitely yes.
