Posting parts abroad

Anybody had any experience sending parts abroad?
Im looking for a reasonable quote to post a pair of Lambretta sidepanels to the U.S.A.
So far all quotes have been far more than the panels are worth
One company of jokers quoted me just shy of £400.................tossers!

Shipping is the big killer on a lot of these deals. It's bad both directions. Panels are even harder to move due to size.

I live in spain I buy local stuff but also buy from England I have found scooterestorations the most reasonable and efficient

You could try parcel monkey but not sure if they have any sort of size restrictions,i send a lot of records out and have a few buyers from China and it costs £62 to send 10kgs using them.Like i say i'm not sure if they have size restrictions but worth a shot and they do a collection option with some of the couriers they use.

Tried them.......£90 to post a £100 pair of panels

Everyone that lives 'abroad' from where parts are lives with the price of postage.. You get used to it. It does make building a bike quite expensive.
Especially when the UK charges VAT for 'imports' of parts that are only going for a refurb. Yet doesn't refund when you get it gets sent back.
