hi all, I have just built a gt 240 with all new everything, it runs fine and i've had it dyno'd and is all set up fine but I have a annoying rattle on tickover, a few revs and it goes, sounds like piston slap but everything is new, anyone any ideas..
thanks in advance

if only, I've checked all the usual rattle places but is definitely coming from the top end of engine

Here's a recording of my 1st start on my GT240, I get a bit of a rattle as the revs come down (around 1 minute in you'll perhaps hear it), is it like that? 1 year on it hasn't changed & no problems so far.

yours sounds more like the kickstart piston touching the starter gear, how many miles have you done ?
mine only does it on tick over, I've not done hardly any mile yet but hope it will get better the more it is run in

It's definitely not the kickstart, probably over 1,000 miles on it now.

I'm afraid you'll have to completely rebuild it.
