Exhaust blowing

I ran the scooter for five mins today to check the electrics and as the rear runner boards aren’t fitted yet I noticed a small amount of smoke blowing out of the joint of the U shaped pipe and the box. It’s a Ancellotti type exhaust. Should the joint be sealed and no leaks? I have tightened the clamp as much as I dare. I am worried I will strip or snap the bolt.

Easy to fix: take joint apart and clean up both surfaces and apply some silicone, i use regular bathroom silicone from screwfix. Dont overtighten the clamp though.
