Got the engine back in today. However, after refitting the rear wheel the stand will not stay down. It seems to be too upright pretty much vertical. It is a new stand and splash plate from Camlam Scooterotica I am guessing. I also had a new cross member fitted when I had it bead blasted as the one on it was in bad shape due to the previous stand almost pulling through. Is it likely to be the stand or the cross member. At the minute I am having to lean it against the wall. Not ideal with a newly painted scooter. Also noticed that there is approx 0.5mm difference in the gap between the front and rear cross members. I am really concerned now as everything is painted.

Sounds more like a cross member than the stand or i would of thought there would be a few more mentioning an issue.Quite often happens when rewelding i rewelded the ends on one of mine and the stand had issues of not going fully up and was very tight on the cross member.Managed to lower it with a bit of mount area grinding just enough to let it go up fully but is still very tight.Blenks wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 5:19 pm Got the engine back in today. I dont really know what you mean by this statement.Unless you mean the difference in distance on one side of the frame to the other, from the front cross member to the rear cross member,if thats the case 0.5mm is a very small ammount.

If it's all painted and mostly assembled I'd probably modify the stand by cutting the stops off and rotating 3 or 4 degrees.
That's a sort of bodge but it's better than disassembling etc. Imo.

It just depends at what point its out.If its on the inside where its welded, then in my opinion it needs removing and re-welding in the correct place. If its on the outside, then the bracket is bent.
