Hi, need renew my fork steering bearings on my series 1 & just wondered if anyone has fitted the ball bearings loose as recommended by some people & if so is it a real improvement & do you just fit the top ones loose or the bottom aswell ? thanks for any info ;)

On my s2 eibar i put the bearings in loose.
I bought two and destroyed the cages. Needed lots of greese and patience.
Not sure if its any better tbh.
Remember reading a thread about it on here.
Most of it implied it was better for handling. So i gave it a go.
Also with cages on the bearings i bought i could not get a very good fit when the firks tightened up. So it made it easier.
