..is too much rust?

I've had my frame blasted and the underneath looks a bit like the surface of the moon, with craters all along the very bottom of the frame tube.

Now it hasn't gone through, but it has obviously been eaten away a bit. While I'm reasonably happy that it won't fall apart, I'd appreciate if someone could let me know whether this is very common and that it isn't a problem, and I'm just being a wuss worrying about it?

My concern would be what it’s like on the inside

A little pile of mud and crap came out when I banged it upside down, but not too much.

Pick a bad bit drill a 1/8 hole see how thick the steel is and weld back up
