Got a Pacemaker gearbox here with the early weak 3rd gear short of finding a later gear are there any other 3rd gears-that can be used, GP 150, S1 or S2 LI 125 etc. Cheers.

And furthermore has anyone actually ever broken one of these gears?

I thought the same you can't just fit a different 3rd gear as the tree is only compatible with that 3rd if it's going in a slightly tuned motor just use it it will be fine as they are a good strong gearbox with a good ratio I no some have done thousands of miles with no issue

Mine had a 37 tooth 3rd fitted when I got it, looks like an Li150, works and meshes ok.
It takes 18hp
