Mag flange

Hi peeps
One of the threads has gone on the mag flange where the stator fixes too it.
What's the easiest fix?

a bodge is to drill and tap just close to the knackered thread.

Helicoil kit cheap enuff from eBay and easy to do in ally

Or tap out to m7 and put a 7mm dome head bolt in

I'd use a timecert, failing that a helicoil.

Other than the 2 M6 threaded holes for removing the mag flange there aren't any other threaded holes where the stator sits.
Regardless, any stripped thread can be fixed with a helicoil or timesert. The trick is making sure it goes in straight.

Yes.I've used them a couple of times when the thread on the chaincase is stripped (the one that holds the tailpipe bracket of the exhaust)
