As the previous owner cut the right hand side panel to accommodate a pm tuning exhaust, I am now trying to replace it. I have just fitted a Scootopia clubman. I had gone down the road of fibreglass but have now decided on the TSR press bare metal ones. They arrived today and thankfully the right hand one fits OK just needs the handle tube shortening slightly as I cannot get the handle on far enough to get the screw in. My problem is with the left hand side. Both the fibreglass and the pressed one locate OK but I cannot get the roller to fit on to the bracket. It seems that the panel is to far forward. My original panel fits fine. Any ideas from anyone. I am thinking of having the fibreglass ones sprayed up as a spare when it goes to the paint shop.

Have you measured the position of the handle in respect to the old panel? Sometimes the locating bracket has to be 'teased' into position to get it to align with the roller or solid type catch. Mine is the later solid type and both sides need a bit of a fiddle but the left one is worse. My panels are original but the bracket isn't.

Have a look at the back of the scooter is it straight? It's possible it might have had a shunt. A piece of wood inside (between tyre and rear of frame) and pulled away from tyre will straighten it. Done it on mine recently.

The rear of the frame loops looks straight to me, as does the bracket. If I were to put a piece of wood between tyre and frame to lever it out that would make it worse not better as I cannot engage the roller on to the bracket. I would in effect be pulling the bracket even further away from the roller.
It just seems strange that I have the problem with 2 different panels one bare metal from TSR and the other fibreglass. They fit to the frame loop without any problems but I am at least an inch away from being able to fit the roller on to the bracket. The original panel that was on it when I bought it fits fine. I have now got 3 sets of side panels: the originals both fit OK but the right side has a piece cut out of it. The new bare metal ones from TSR, right side is OK, left side cannot engage roller. Fibreglass set, right side OK, left side same as TSR bare metal one.

It is an early (1962) series 3 Li150 so has the one piece "W" clip that the side panel handle rollers locate to. It seems symmetrical and all in line. The reason I bought the TSR panels was because I have read positive reviews. I don't want to say it is the panel because I have a fibreglass one with the exact same issue. Just weird why my original one fits fine and the other two are not close to locating the handle roller. I was planning to replace the "W" clip for a stainless one as part of the rebuild. I may buy one now and fit it to see if it has any impact although I have my doubts.

You still haven't said it you have done any measuring or comparisons between the old and new panels, 2 minutes with a tape measure or even just standing left and right back to back would provide a clue.
