Af road clutch won't disengage

Fitted an af road clutch yesterday and when it was all back together I can't compress it at all, the cable is moving freely and it's not trapped behind the shock. I have no idea what's causing it but before I split it open again I'd like an idea of what's causing it

If it's a gp casing did you fit the brassplunger the right way round and did you try it for smooth operating and sometimes you need to file it down a bit and did you fit the top cap weather it's gp or li witch has a nipple on

You've got me thinking about the plunger now as it did drop out while I was fitting the casing I guess it is possible I put it back in the wrong way round , the plates slid into the crown wheel nicely and the top cap is in it

I had a similar problem and found that the christmas tree was too tall, stopping the centre button from moving inwards at all. Changed Xmas tree and all fine.

That could be the case, I put a new box in when I fitted the clutch I suppose I could grind the tree down to give me more clearance

Took it to bits, the plunger was fine and the plates move freely so I'm guessing it's the nut and Christmas tree

I had the same problem - took about 2mm off the Christmas tree and worked spot on :D

It was the nut all along! Just shaved it and it moves in and out nicely with the clutch compressor

Ben at Rayspeed said that should cure it, when Chiselspeed stronger springs were used.
