Engine removal

I am going to begin the strip down of my Li150 and have a question before I do. Can the engine be removed with the exhaust? Just for info the set up is Mugello 186 with a Scootopia 42mm clubman. I am hoping it all comes out as one unit as it is only a cosmetic restoration. The mechanics are sound.

Yes
I use one of the one piece brake cables so if you loose the nut on the brake arm you can pull the cable out remove the c clip from the gear linkage and unbolt the swivel and cable block from the top of the engine. Remove the carb from the manifold, remove the rear shock and drop the rear, stick some bricks or wood blocks under the pipe and flywheel loose the long engine bolt and lift the frame off the engine. You can do this with the rear floor bords on though it's easier to refit with them off.
Sorry I missed the wires from the stator 3 to the CDI and 2 to the loom
The engine is left on the floor in one big lump, wheel pipe and all
Doing it this way leaves all your cables intact so no messing when you drop it back in.

Don't forget to disconnect the stator wires - like I forgot and ripped them all out by accident

Not sure why you wouldn't want to remove the exhaust as it's the easiest thing to do. It will give you the opportunity to check for splits/cracks etc or maybe upgrade the exhaust.

The exhaust is brand new and only just been fitted so I did not want to have to take it back off again if I do not have to.
