Hot starting problem, electronic trigger height?

Am running a bgm stator an AF flywheel. As mentioned in my carb problem thread am having hot/warm starting issues. Starts with choke from cold, starts without choke immediately after stopping. Won't start at all after half an hr, except will chug a bit if kick with full throttle, so flooded.
Am wondering if the alignment of the trigger on the stator could affect the spark quality and cause this or am I clutching at straws?

im not an expert with these, but i would suspect low tension coil is the problem, maybe just try another stator that is known to work.

It's not the trigger height.
Sounds like carb. to me. If it's an old carb. try a new slide in it.
Or possibly poor compression when hot, caused by barrel/rings wear.

Thanks guys. It's an all newrebuild with new pwk scootrs carb and new barrel and piston. Strange thing is when you stop the when hot it will restart first kick but leave it for half an hr and it's flooding etc.

I gave up on copy Keihins years ago. I tried several. The ScootRS version was the worst. I'd try a Dell'orto or Mikuni and save yourself a lot of aggravation.

Think you might be right. Took the filter off and thought would give it a run and see if it would start from warm but wouldn't start at all from cold. Stuck it back on and started after a few kicks.
Getting to thinking of giving up and buying a Delly

It sounds like worn rings to me.

Thanks Paul, hope it's not worn rings as brand new cylinder and piston. You never know though ....

Classic 'spitback' issue, you didn't mention what kit it is but I'll guess it is a piston port? The problem is excess spit back fuel gathering in the air filter elbow which runs down and pools in the carb mouth when you stop for a while. You should be able to reduce this a fair amount with some attention to the idle settings but if it still persists or a s a short term work round, try turning the fuel off shortly before stopping. When you come to re-start, leave the fuel off and keep the throttle closed when you kick it over. Some people drill a small hole in the bottom of the elbow for this reason but not too sure if that works.
