Ring Peg Damage repair

This has happened on my Mugello . Is it repairable ?? by anyone ?

I don`t know if its clear from the pic ?
The ring peg had worn nearly flush but its still there. Obviously the lower ring has worn away on one end , how it didn`t catch is beyond me. I`ll take to a local engineers this morning and see what he says anyhow ,

Personally, I wouldn't contemplate re-engineering a ring peg. It is probably safer and more economic to buy a new piston. If the peg moved once it might certainly move again.
