Hi, could anyone help please and explain step by step procedure. I have looked at the "J " brackets and the splash plate, which are held onto the cross-member with 2 HEX bolts and nuts. One side is easily accessable using a socket, but the exhaust side is not. Is there a way to get at it, without removing floor boards etc. I have never done this before, so could you please forgive my ignorance and explain the procedure in simple terms.

If you remove the rear shock, the exhaust should swing out of the way sufficiently to allow you to use a socket on the end of the nut.

Having said that, the whole job is easier if you do remove the rear footboards, allowing the use of a open ended spanner in the channel of the cross-member.

Why are you removing the stand?

Hi Martin, the stand or the brackets seem bent, the scooter is really difficult to get off the stand, it seems to be sitting really low.

Iam thinking of letting a garage do it, how much "roughly" , do you think it would cost Maybe they could straighten the existing stand.

It could be that the two bits that stick up on the top of your stand (the bits that butt up against your frame strutt) are bent. Iirc these should be inline with the stand legs.

Stand and fittings are relatively cheap to replace and fit yourself, so worth doing as a way of learning. The spring is a bugger mind but just down to practice...
