Jetting advice please - TS1/Race/TMX35

Since having TS1 dyno'd I have had tuning work done and a new CNC head. The plug is looking a little light so tried moving clip down on needle but that made it a bit boggy. Current set up is:

TS1 230 - MB road/race tune
CNC head
Varitronic ignition set at 24
Cyclone 47x18
Fran Race pipe

Jetting:

Pilot 22.5
Main jet - 340
Needle - 57 2nd from top

I have a spare 56 needle - would that richen her up in mid range?

Many thanks :D

Changed mine to a 56 2nd clip down iirc and it improved mine.

Yeah, I dug out the 56 and swapped it over - same position clip as the 57, 2nd down, and managed a quick blast around town and a bit of a plug chop pulling up to my house, so not the best plug chop in the world (will do a proper one in daylight tomorrow). Colour looks much better - a nice light brown - will do a better chop tomorrow and take it from there. Would like it a bit darker if it stays the colour it is tonight after a better run. Thinking that dropping the clip might just get her spot on. Will get her back to Chiselspeed for the dyno when I get the chance :D

Just had mine dynod with almost same set up as yours, (57- 2nd clip) but with a Darrell Taylor V Force v4 reed valve assembly. Darrel recommended a jetting just like yours, using either the 56 or 57 needle at the 2nd clip position, but he also recommended a 25 pilot due to my advance/retard kytronic ignition. (Static at 24 and down to 16 at 6500rpm.) This higher pilot jet to help richen up on cruising speeds. So in your case, I would try a 25 pilot first.

Dan C dynod it and my A/F was spot on safe all through the rev range and it rode great on the way back home knowing that it was safe.

But one thing that I learn't from Dan, was that most TMX35 carbs give a blip on the A/F ration around 5500. In my case it rose to 13.2% which is still safe. Dan did say that this is common to this type of carb due to the fixed atomizer and showed me other runs to prove it. Trouble is, if you richen up to get the blip out of the danger zone, then it richens up the whole A/F curve.

PS, Darrell's reed valve put another 1.5BHP onto the curve of a standard TS1 and the rev response was great, so well pleased.

Fantastic - Darell told me a while ago to go to 22.5 or 25 pilot so I went with 22.5. Now I've had her tuned it makes sense to go to the 25 so will order one today. Nice one :D
