kickstart stays down

On rebuilding lambretta topend, just went to start up and kickstart lever stays down when kicking it over? and once you touch it, it does return, what could be the cause, its not catching on exhaust. scoot did start Thanks

It will be the Paul sticking on the ramp on the inside of the casing. It you take the side case off you should see witness marks on the ramp were it's been coming into contact with the Paul, quick tickle with the die grinder and your good to go.
