I'm trying to fit my clutch whilst bike upright finding it impossible to keep the springs in place can it be done or have I got to lye it on its side tips would be really appreciated thanks

dip the springs in thick grease push them in place then put clutch bell housing over them i usually have my plates sat on the bar you compress with so as soon as you put pressure on the bell you slide each one down

I've tried gaz they seemed to hold for a second then drop down, even a bit of loctite, might invent a tool lol

I made one from a thin grinding disc I'll go in my workshop and take a photo

Thanks gaz that's just the job I'll get back to it was going to try a spot of super glue

never had a problem with this even with the bike upright.

Simply put all your plates (corks and steels etc) on your clutch compressor and give it a bit of tension so the top plate is slightly compressed. The feed your springs in and seat them, followed by your plates. Tighten up the compressor then add the circle.

What sort of compressor are you using

you can also fit your socket extension bar through the hole in the disc
