Hope someone can advise me on this.Scooter been stood nearly a year. All good when put in garage, tried to kick it over but the kickstart goes down without turning the engine.Their is resistance.Changed the clutch plates for some i've had in soak(unknown age/condition)new springs fitted and still the same.Let the clutch arm right off and the same.
Does it sound like i need to replace everything or maybe something else.

sounds like the K/S plunger is sticking and not engaging First Gear? Plunger could be worn and not engaging?

Thanks for the reply Bristol, won't bump either.Same, seems like there is a drag.Did kick over with the first kick then nothing.Kickstart went down with resistance but the piston didn't move/fire

No,not the retaining circlip, already had the casing off to replace the springs and cork plates(unknown age/condition,been soaking for a long time

)So no other thoughts on it,assuming the cork plates that i can't remember how long iv'e soaked have become U/S.Next step then will be to replace the whole lot new and hope it works.
Thanks for the input Bristol

I was thinking along those lines too, sprocket bolt loose or the splines not lined up properly allowing the cush drive to ride over itself.

Maybe the spline in the centre of the clutch where it bolts to the gear cluster has worn out, a loose nut could cause this, had a similar problem with a Vespa small frame, they only use a woodruff key, but same end result, no drive and kickstart does nothing
