Is this common? Or is it not? People in the spanish forum are mentioning about the common "chain noise" in 200 casings, and they are pointing a this problem as the origin of it, not simply just an "untensioned chain". Has anyone encountered this before? This bearing just not sitting right in place and hence the "chain inner crankcase noise"? Anybody knows why is this caused?:

never heard of it Jaime.
The bearing in question has never shown any problems to me in over 40 years and countless engine strip downs.

I have a similar 'chain noise' from my SIL 200 engine. First I thought it was flywheel main bearing wear, but no play at all in bearing. Then I tried changing the chain to an IWIS one, not that. Then I replaced all the gearbox bearings/examined tracks and checked endplate shim clearance.....nothing. So I now conclude that it's probably wear in the gearbox itself..
NB No shims missing!!
