I'll give this a try as it is a new inlet I have put on since the rebuild, how exactly do you go about doing the leak test?

I useda mountain bike tube. Cut it to suit the distance between the inlet and exhaust stub and jubilee clip it on. Pump by hqnd using a fiit pump. If theres a leak you'll soon know. Mine wouldnt inflate at all. I sprayed soapy water around hiss at the manifold and it showed bubbles at the high stud. Stripped it down and found pin holes in the casting. Sealed with JB WELD and it ran perfectly when rebuilt. Definitely worth a try.

I would have thought an air leak would lean it off and cause it too race, not bog down.......but I may be wrong....

I've got exactly this problem on an Avanti I rebuilt for my mate. We changed the crank and finally cured (after several attempts) the drive side oil seal failing with a rimini drive side plate.

But now, it really bogs down in first and 2nd and you have to really rev and slip the clutch to get away. Reminds of when I had a Rapido that behaved the same, it was something to do with transfers being too large on that, a design fault. BUT! This ran well before and crank is the same lentgh Rod as before! It's not jetting, it's not cables wrong way round, Antony tambs reconditioned the stator, and it flies in 3rd and 4th!!

I'm out of ideas and it's on my head to sort it !

Sorry to hijack but I need help :?

Is your choke cable right length for carb fitted ?
