Hi all,

Thinking of making an order from scooter restorations of about £400. Can anyone comment on quality of stud kits etc? Decent or bad? Feel free to PM if you prefer.

Normally the best you can get, with studs being correct rolled studs of the original spec... however, the last time I ordered some they came through as the normal soft rubbish that most dealers sell. At least the side casing nuts were the original taller spec nuts but it would be worth checking.

Studs are such an important starting point for a motor build, as are bearings and seals, so always look to buy decent ones.

Soft M7s for gearbox endplate are another pet hate of mine!

I've always found their stuff to be decent quality. Such that you get used to it, and when you order from eBay or somewhere, it's quite shocking the s**t you get sent.

Their ordering system is pretty efficient and accurate.

Ok cheers. I asked as the photo of the studs and the nuts didn't look great. For bearings I ordered a kit from scootopia along with the rolf seal kit

I am doing an original restoration so any studs with Allen key fittings, spring washers, flanged nuts, lock nuts etc are out. It can also effect the vintage status the bike currently has.

Very very little and only on places out of the way. I know of a case where the veteran status was removed because keys had worn paint away on a headstock.. madness!
