finding the original reg number for mk1 px

I recently bought a mk1 px in bits, the original owner no longer had the logbook and the number plate wasn't with the scooter, is there a way of finding out the original registration based on the vin number or is it a case of re registering it

yes this can be done if dvla still hold the reg on their records , what you have to do is get a form from the post office ( can,t remember the code no for it ) and send it along with £25 to the dvla . They will then search their records and if its still there they will cash your £25 cheque and issue you the logbook and if its not they will return your cheque and you will have to re-register it .
