Adjusting kickstart?

Is the kickstart at all adjustable with the GP type endplate or is the only way to cut the endplate to remove the ramp and fit an Li type ramp in the side casing? The kickstart on the missus' GP sometimes only bites about halfway down but it's just not low enough to get away with moving the kickstart round one notch

yes i had the same issue, i think some kickstarts have the splines slightly out of line, as you have already suggested the li ramp is a good fix and you can get a realy good pedal, i think i had to slot the holes slightly, but its spot on now, makes starting much easier, a worthwhile conversion.

Are the Li kickstart shafts and GP ones the same and interchangeable?

Thanks, I've done this conversion before and will probably do this time but just wondered if the actual kickstart shaft is different between the GP and Li/SX/TV?

Any idea of the differences? I've just ordered a new shaft GP type as the other one was knackered but now not sure what the old one was, any easy way of checking and does anything else need changing to go with the different type shafts? Thanks

You have a gp casing so you need a gp kick start it's thicker than an li

That's incorrect. Yes, they are beefier but an LI shaft will fit a GP sidecasing. I have Italian LI shafts on both my GP sidecasings as I found the machining of the Indian ones to be very hit and miss.
