Carb agjustments for adding filter?

After wearing out a TS1 barrel in a very short time I have decided to run with a filter (I live near the beach so think sand might have played a significant role in premature wear). What adjustments should I be thinking of making to the carb to compensate for the filter?
Many thanks.

Logic tells me that the filter is restricting the amount of air entering the carb so you restrict the amount of petrol to compensate. That is what I have always done. Do it gradually though, don't make it too lean initially.
That said, I have read of breathe sweet type filters working the other way round.
