Disc clean, better quality pads, thicker cable and it feels spongey, any ideas?

Is the big circlip that holds the actuator staying in the groove?

Have you tried converting to reverse pull system?

^ yes, I have thought about that and I think I saw some good pics on this website about doing it nicely. The thing is I've another cable disc set up on another scoot and it works better.

I have a reverse pull inboard disc,I use an SR thicker front brake cable and the brake is really good, but I have to say that it does feel a bit spongy, but like DigDug says,I put that down to the movement of the circlip.

Is the disc new or used?? The disc itself not the whole brake unit.

^ it's all original including the disc. I did clean the rust off the disc and cleaned everything with brake cleaner. It works okay but I've another original disc brake in another scoot and that works better, so that's how I can feel the difference. I've read it takes a while to bed the new, better quality pads in but I've got nearly 300 miles on the scoot since the rebuild.
