when you fit the caseing did you push down on the kickstart and feed the pin into the ramp on the endplate

I did it with a pair of mole grips then fitter the start lever after, I did push it forward I thought the pin would locate itself, I've only dry built it so I'll have to have a look thanks gary

ive had them where the plunger pin slot is not machined long enough and not allowing the plunger to engage with the teeth on the 1st gear . just take a couple of more mm out off it with a die grinder or dremil should sort it out ...

Right then, found the new kickstart shaft was to long and the neck was catching the the start gear teeth causing the kickstart piston to stick in, so I've ground some off and now it's clear its running nice and smooth, only thing is the kickstart lever now hits the floor every time I kick it over have I not done it right or missed something out. Getting frustrated now Image or is it lack of compression no exhaust on or petrol please help, or if you live near Bridgnorth pop in please lol

Hi daz you could try moving the kick start back one tooth but it will move the piston out a bit more so you could be back to square one also fit your exhaust temporary for starting up Mark one tooth with a felt tip and move back one I wouldn't worry about how far down the kick start goes your after it engaging the teeth as soon as possible
