stage 6 egt gauge

fitted an egt gauge to a mates lammy today, but just a little confused with the wiring, has anyone else fitted one , pic shows a switched live going to positive on battery, simple, but then show the other wire going to the negative terminal but says positive, very confusing, any ideas,
