Whilst stripping the forks I noticed some marks in the steel. It's not rubbing but more like chipping or welding damage.. any ideas? it is all located around the damper brackets

thems spot welds holding inner stop for suspension spring top hats or bushes nylon; normal t have 2 spotwelds on each fork leg

Its were the spring seats are welded in. The bit the tophats fit in for the rods that go inside the fork springs. (I think).
