I'm looking to treat the considerable surface rust on a S2 that I'm putting back on the road . I don't want to get rid of the rust ,I just don't want it to get worse and I don't want to repaint . Suggestions fellas ?

You can only inhibit it. It'll get you in the end. The only thing you can do is get the worst of it off. You'll have to prepare the surface to a degree. There's no way around it. Then maybe spray it with ACF50.

Angkor wax is my preferred choice on my series 2, in fact it's just been treated to another big smothering from it.

Hope that helps

+1 on the anchor wax, or w@nk3r axe as I keep calling it :-). It's done a brilliant job preserving my 'patina'.

I have got quite a lot of surface rust . Will the anchor wax kill the rust and drastically darken the colour of the rust ?
I've looked at penetrol , anybody seen that ?

I don't think anything will kill rust. There are commonly available rust treatments that will render it inert and look quite impressive initially. But they won't stop it because it will simply rust again. I think the theory behind stuff like Ankor Wax is that they cap a rusty surface and stop it oxidising in contact with the air.

Another vote for Ankor wax, but I also give it a going over with ACF-50 couple of times a year as well as I ride my rustoration all year round

Ankor Wax will buff up to a dull shine on a half decent surface.
