I saw this in Practical Classics and thought it might be of interest:

Do we need a survey? Isn't it in all standard petrol?

I'm just pointing out that the article says that apparently there's no Ethanol in 'Esso 5-Star Supreme' petrol. I thought it might be helpful for those who blame Ethanol for blowing up their expensive pistons and cylinder kits.

I never buy the Super stuff unless there's no option. I have been riding most days since Ethanol was put in our petrol. Standardish scoots and tuned. The only noticeable adverse effect has been leaking dell'orto floats. Am I alone in this?
That said, I'd be interested in whether this is the case in all Supers.

Point taken Davla. Got to say though, like Storkfoot, I always use regular fuel and have never had a problem with it. It's got more go in it than a Super unleaded.
