What's the difference between the non grooved drive side oil plate

And the grooved one

And which one do I need for an Li3 casing with a gp crank?

Cheers

Technically speaking you will gain a hair more case volume by using the grooved one. In reality though I doubt it makes any difference at all. If it helps, the solid type is a later more modern design (dl/GP style).

I tend to use the grooved Italian ones in my builds since the alloy solid type always seemed to be warped.

Broadly, but check the plate is centred - try it in all four positions.

And make sure your Helite seal isn't to thick that it forces the drive plate against the side of the crank, I've recently had a couple from Beedspeed that apart from being to thick were cut on the p155. I now use two of the thin ones from Harry Barlow paired up...spot on..
