Hi, can anyone tell me how to get a lambretta engine casing to shine like chrome, are there any special products to get that finish etc.

yes they can be polished, i use a mop that i bought from machine mart, it comes with a mandrell that goes in a hand-drill, will produce a nice shine if the aluminium is smooth, your engine case will probably be a bit rough in places depending on where it was made, use emery cloth to rub down the imperfections, then use wet and dry paper to get nice and smooth so there are no pits or casting marks, then use your polishing mop and soap, end result looks very nice, i do this to engine covers, i then laquer them so they dont corrode.

Or if it seems too time consuming (which it definately is) have a word with JL Polishing (johnny lambrettista) the best in the business at polishing.

As in "keeping it polished".You can't get to most of the case once its built up and in the scooter.

If you're like me you'll have the casing off every 6 months or so anyway.
