Here is a few pics of my Vespa chop build, It started out as a quick build for a run-around donated by a buddy that "just needed an engine as my Lambretta build was taking too long" (photos of this will be posted when finished)

We started with an LML Star Deluxe frame

Stripped it

Chopped it

Added some extended forks we had lying around

Put some wheels on and a mock up engine, painted it with NATO grey paint

Small adjustment to the back end

T5 mudguard and new seat choice

Image

Added a sprint rack to tidy up the rear

Image

Sourced a nice T5 engine with a Mallossi 172 and added a 28mm carb

Changed the forks to auto jobbies

Installed some bike bars

Big headlight look

Then added pin striping and sign writing

So it started as LML Star Deluxe 125 that had been severely abused and need a fair bit of rust replacement in the usual places. We chopped it painted it gave it a new heart and suspension, Piaggio Skipper front end and SIP Gas shock on the rear. Wide wheel conversion on the back. Bike bars and mini fairing to complete the look.
Nearly finished just waiting on some choice bits from mental Engineering to complete the look and then its wiring fun hope you like. What started as a quick throw together heap turned into a really nice different looking scoot.

6 Months from start to finish with a lot of direction changes along the way it was going to be a street racer with drops but as parts became available we changed direction. Just waiting on the cut-down toolbox and custom brake pedal to finish. Most of the parts came from Facebook for sale pages and help from some talented fabricators (Kris Green - Mental Engineering. Adrian Newnham).

Great thread, love how menacing it looks from
the front. How does it handle.
