Don't be tempted to just get a led replacement bulb, they are very dim I ended up putting my normal bulb back in!

Just for a bit of balance,I have used an LED bulb in the rear of my series 3 for over a year and it is not dim but quite bright, the best part about it is that when I use the back brake the lights dont almost go off,but stay bright.

Is yours the full DC system with battery? Mine is AC no battery and I'm using a 55watt halagen front bulb which is very bright, but as you say when you brake even with the led back bulb the front light almost dies.

I read somewhere those led back light units must be used only with DC current ?
