Hi all, I thought I'd share this little upgrade I've done to my latest project. All you need is a square file and some M5 cage nuts ( these cost £1.50 for 10 delivered ). All you need to do is slightly file the cross member opening for the bridge piece fixing point. Slot in a cage nut and you're done. The purpose made kits are £18-20 and this stands me in at £1.50. The cage nuts are stainless so should last ok. I hope this is of help to someone wanting an easy fit bridge piece kit. Cheers Pete.

Clever approach. I always thought well nuts or rivnuts would be a good option also.

The good thing about using cage nuts is they will slide along in the slot making them adjustable. All bridge pieces seem to fit in different positions. You also don't need to do any drilling.

Good idea.

I have often seen people struggling to remove the bridge piece secured in the traditional way. It is so much easier if you drop the back shock off first.

I think I might have a go at doing it your way though 10" Terror

I like that, I have one of the kits you mentioned but if you don't get the rivets drilled right there is not adjustment.
