new replacement re made panels and parts !

As part of an on going series two restoration ,i was supplied with a pair of "new, re made floorboards" that the customer supplied and had bought .
the fit was excellent ...i was rather impressed !
and all was well until i started to paint them ,they came primed and they did look ok ,but as soon as i applied some base coat colour things went wrong ...bubbles and bulges appeared !
so all i could do was to strip them back and start again to rectify ..
and guess what i found ?....
rusted and pitted metal ,obviously just old ones just filled and primed and bodged up !
ffs !
