gear box fitted at the moment is the one listed in stickeys as ood ball late indian, giving a 4th gear ratio of 4.8 3rd to fourth gear jump is huge slowing the scoot down when changing into 4th.
as i am planning to change the whole gear box which would be the better one to go for gp 150 indian, giving 4th gear ratio of 5.64 or gp 200 late indian giving 4th gear ratio of 6.13 these will be fitted with 15/46 sprockets 185cc kit and 22mm jetex carb and sterling exhust. any help will be greatfull.

Not the GP150. BIG gap between 3rd and 4th.
Have you any other options? Apparently the AF close ratio box is strong and a bargain at £99.
JB ran it in his 30+bhp RB demonstrator without issues.

ill answer for bimo hes at work and wants to order parts tomorrow, price is restrictive so these were the 2 gearboxes he chose as an italian 150box wasnt going to appear at that price these 2 boxes are available for 60 gbp new and we have plaed with ratios and if we got our head around it properly then the higher the ratio in 4th it will rev higher and achieve a cruising speed quicker ,which it is not doing at the moment actually drops speed in 4th as in first post ,after all that wot we are looking for is the best budget box to get up the rev range to cruising speed using an out of the box 185 kit which i thought was out of the two early gp 150 or late gp200 but wanted some input from ppl as i have never gotten into this before and wouldnt want to ill advise when its not my money being spent ,cheers chaps any one goig to ronnie biggs norfolk rally this weekend

The Scootopia/Casa lambretta dealer in Weston-super Mare has a 185 kit fitted to an SX150. The kit (Casa 185)copes very well with the big jump from 3rd to 4th and is very torquey. They have also fitted 17x46 and the scoot still pulls away in 1st or 2nd. If you give them a ring I'm sure they'd be happy to advise.
NO IT'S NOT A F***IN* MOPED!!!!!!
