Intend to add a temperature gauge to my ts1. And have a couple of questions.

Which is better, egt or cht and why?

If I use cht with the probe under the spark plug, is it likely to cause a leak?

I'd like to use an ac stator with a regulator that has a dc output; is the little dc output big enough to drive 0.2amp gauge?

Koso do an AC to DC converter for less than £20 which I hid under the hornstem to power a Stage 6 egt. An EGT will register far quicker than CHT gauge.

They really go hand in hand tbh, the EGT readings need to be interpreted and that is easier if you have the CHT reading to compare with. Under the plug is the best place for the CHT probe but yes they do work loose in my experience.

I can see how using both would be useful, but for one reason and another I'll only be fitting one.

I THINK therefore that I'm better off monitoring egt in that case. Yes?

Also, I've checked and the small dc output from a bgm regulator is fine for my purposes.
