hi, been trying to get a friends lammy to run correctly, and it wont play ball, its a gori 175 kit with af clubman, running a phbl 25, runs fine when the throttle is opened but at cruising speed it splutters, im thinking the idle jet might just be too large, its got a 53 in there at the moment
main100
slide40
needle d22
forgot to add he is running through an airbox with a fine mesh filter and box drilled.strobe timed 17 degees, starts easy pulls well, no other faults
moved the needle to top clip and didnt cure it, neither did the airscrew, was thinking of trying a 50 idle, am i heading in the right direction do you think ?
thanks in advance,
holty

fitted a 50 idle jet yesterday, has improved it but still a slight splutter on idle when riding along, soon as you open up the throttle a bit it clears, running on the top clip, changed to second clip and runs awful, realy spluttery,so put it back to top clip on the needle, should i try a smaller idle jet, also checked the atomiser its got a aq266 in it, should it have an aq 264 ?
cheers in advance,

Try the 264 with needle on bottom clip and hopefully it will splutter, then move the clip up a notch at a time until it runs clean. All the 25 mm carbs I've fitted have needed idle jets in the 40's range.
