I've had a few scooter related problems of late, the latest one is that my scoot wont start when the exhaust is on

Its a new AF Reverse Cone. It appears to go something like this

1. scooter wont start,
2. take exhaust box off
3. kick scooter over - it starts after a few kicks.
4. turn off
5. refit exhaust
6. start scooter, runs fine. :D
7 turn scooter off or it dies for some reason
9. try to start scoot, but wont start :(
8. go back to step 1.

I had a problem with the carb dropping fuel into the pipe but that appears to be resolved now as now when I take the pipe off there's no fuel in it.

Here we go again Ed
Has the pipe got any blockages ? Can you blow through it, heavy back preasure will kill it. Any rattles, baffle dropped out blocking the outlet
Carb, bellows on or not, tipping it over to work on the pipe may be leaving fuel in the bellows, heavy spit back same
Then has it run ok on this carb box combination before.

I've never thought to remove the silencer when attempting to start a Lambretta.
Did you have to do that?

I dont think so. Once its running its fine and kicking out normal gases out the back

No odd noises or rattles - its a new pipe, carb and engine so its only run once I got the electrics/clutch/carb issues sorted and only after carrying out the procedure above.

How would you know if its spitting back alot? Could over tuning the exhaust outlet cause then, not that I think I have
