Help !
I've bought a 2nd hand avanti head to go on my Rapido 225. Can I just bolt this on? Or is there any machining work??

It's running a Yamaha dt250 piston and reedvalve .....

The reason I'm doing this is due to the fact it's overheating and I've done everything to cool it so far.

The normal Avanti head has a raised bit that fits into the barrel but the ones sold for fitting to other kits have this machined off. I bought one for my TS1, you may want to grind out between the fins to help airflow over the head, just the near side needs doing.

The Avanti head for the Rapido is machined differently to the the Avanti head for the Avanti (which sits down inside the bore) as Coaster says. Best make sure you get the correct one! Also, excuse my ignorance, is the Dt250 piston crown the same profile as a standard lambretta. My Avanti Rapido head was machined as standard to match a "normal" 70mm piston profile. As well as the extended nuts for the extra mounting holes, Ron's mounting kit includes washers to spread the load on the fiberglass cowl and domed head allen bolts which he insists are loctited (in his words "they WILL come loose if you don't use loctite").
