Hi all, RB250 with a Cyclone box it selects 5th ok but once the power band kicks in it jumps out of 5th. Any ideas please? Thanks in advance Pete.

cables too tight, or end of cable catching if not cut of, rubber bellows on cables causes this, or worn selector mechanism, wishbone pawls or worn gear selector(cursor) i use mb gear springs they are a bit stronger, holds in gear better, has it always done it, eg a fresh build, or has it slowly got worse ? 5th gear is when the arm is nearest to shock mount, check for some clearance when in 5th, engine dosnt need to be running.

more than likely the tie bar or the back of the wish bone needs to ground away on certain types so it doesnt hit the engine casing near the rear hub bearing, all those things are in the manual

Are you slightly pulling on it to make it happen? Mine did that, fitting the larger brass MB gear wheel in the headset cured mine..
