Hi all, I'm after the best way to fit a new splash / drip tray on a standard petrol tank. Any hints / tips very much appreciated. Thank you in advance Pete.

stick it in very hot water then place on neck of tank, AFTER putting felt ring on.

Warm it up and push it in from the Top of the frame loop. Its a bit tight but it will bend and spring back into shape after you get it through the hole,

Once mine is fitted I then put the felt ring on top, that way it stops dribbles of fuel and can be taken out and dried (I just squeeze mine dry and re-fit).Some drip trays are made of hard plastic and no matter how hot the water is,it wont soften.I got one of these off Ebay and had to replace it.

Can't remember where I got mine but it's made by atomic. It's white plastic and like hxpaul says there's no way to get it on with hot water. I hacked so much plastic out of it that I reckon I've halved it's weight!

Yes I bought one from Scootopia, just couldn't get it to go in at all...... Until it came time to fit the floor rubbers in the alloy channels which I had to boil before I could get um in, anyway that prompted me to boil the drip tray which then went in no problem.
