Hi all,

just built a Lambretta engine with a Mugello 200 kit and a VHST24 carb.
Starts and runs very good with excellent throtle response, but having issues with fuel flow because the fuel line connects to the carb at an awkward angle. The fuel line now comes from the fuel tap, goes below the engine mount and then has to go over the carb inlet to go to the fuel connection on the carb. When running on idle it's fine and at high revs it screams along happily but I'm guessing inbetween when opening the throttle it starves itself due to the length of the fuel line and the fact the fuel has come down, go up again and then go down again to the float bowl.
Unlike on a PHBH/PHBL the fuel doesn't connect to the carb with a banjo+ bolt but has a kind of 'pressed-in' 90°elbow.
Does anybody know if this elbow is cast in or pressed in, and if so, can it be rotated without breaking?

if it is fitted the same as a mikuni it will be pushed in, i had a similar problem, i pulled the pipe out of the carb with a pair of pliers, i twisted and pulled and the same time and came out no bother, put it back in by hand, then gave a gentle squeeze with a g-clamp and it has never leaked. i had to alter mine by adding a 90 degree elbow to the metal pipe so the rubber pipe didnt have to bend and kink, i just soldered the parts together before fitting it back into the carb.

I am pretty sure this is a press fit and you can rotate it without too much difficulty. It is just a matter of being brave.

So to be safe I would probably want to heat the carb body a bit before attempting to rotate the elbow?
