When using scomadi forks can the springs, pistons, links be used, or do you need scomadi parts to fit

If they are the forks sold for Lambretta then normal Lambretta parts fit.

I had problems with Mine. I couldnt get them to fit using a dust cover, (treid 4 different covers) ,and I had to file the groove for the headset bolt in the right place. Also gave up trying to fit harder springs as there was no way they were going to go in without using excessive force.
One of the buffer retaining plates needed welding on properly, Not quite what I expected when I bought them.
Im using SIL forks on my new build.

The problem rebuilding the lower end was caused by the spring stops.
They where welded in about 7mm lower compared to a good set of original Italian GP 200 forks that I have.
Thats probably why I had a real hard time compressing the stiffer MB springs. I gave up in the end as the force required to compress the spring didnt feel right at all.
The original strength springs went in easy enough though.
Havent got a clue what was going on with the lower dust cover, I tried 5 different new ones from 3 different sources.
With a dust cover fitted, there was always a gap between the lower fork bearings and the lower frame cone, about 1,5mm. No use at all.
My Italian forks worked fine with a dust cover fitted.
Without the dust cover the Scomadi type forks fitted well at the bottom end, so I fitted them without the dust cover like on a Series1. Probably means that Ill need to change the bearings more often.
The headset pinch bolt was about 1 Cm to low so I redid it in the proper place.
A lot of faffing about for a bit of kit thats welded together on a perfectly fitted jig.
To be fair, I would use them again as the work involved in getting them to fit isnt hard to do.
Most of the welding and the basic form is very good, and the metal isnt 40+ years old.
I would expect that they fit like an original set though.
