More s**t parts.

As you may know I'm presently restoring an Indian GP. Most of the parts were useable so were re used. One part that was shot was the rear mudguard. So I ordered a new one from a well know shop that specialises in original SIL parts. Anyway when it arrived I didn't bother doing a dry fit I just painted it and assumed it'd fit. With hindsight I wish I'd dry fitted it 1s....

As you can see its miles out. Why do they willingly sell this rubbish?

I thought Indian GP's had plastic rear mudguards
EDIT
I was just looking at your photo's and I noticed that you've fastened the base of your gear swivel on the wrong way around.

It's a very early one and had loads of Italian parts on it. It came to me with a metal mudguard that looked original to the bike. I thought I'd refit metal as the plastic ones available are awful. I've managed to get this one to fit by drilling another hole and really forcing it into place.

I had the same issue on one that I bought from a well known and usually sound supplier it was nowhere near. Was sent back and I got refunded but they take there time about it which has made me no longer buy from them.I eventually got one from someone else that again was 'new' and was closer so I have used it with a bit of reworking, but I certainly have thought twice about buying these remade or new parts and tend to try and find a second hand one that has at least previously been on a scoot..

I bought a lovely new kickstart for my gp150 [gt200 ] project from a reputable dealer, in fact it was a casa one at the pricely sum of £60. The kickstart had been made completely wrong......It was bent to the wrong shape and the stop was welded in the wrong place and at the wrong angle. Totally useless and unuseable! I took it back to them and showed them the issue and they could also see it was wrong. No problem then, but there wasn't another to exchange it with so it was a refund, well not really, a credit note as i'd purchased it 9 months previous when buying everything a bit at a time to build the engine. What shocked me and also annoyed the staff was that it was put back into stock by the boss, meaning that it would get sent out again to the next person that ordered one. That just isn't on at all. Speedy. ps, the Spaq one I then purchased elsewhere for £35, fit like a glove and had a far better finish to the chrome.

I also got a new toolbox door from the same place. I went to fit it and it was miles out. Not unusual for Lammy parts, so I thought I'd just bend the hinge slightly. After minimum pressure this happened....

I got so angry I took a hammer to it and smashed it to bits. It's so frustrating.

It seems never ending, I tried to fit a new gear set and second would not go on the layshaft. When fitting a megello manifold I could not get a socket or ring spanner on the long stud nut and an o/e spanner would not fit properly. The solution from a well respected (by some) dealer was to grind the manifold away until you can. I fitted a cap screw instead.

Wait till you buy a floor mat from a trusted shop and after cutting out the brake pedal hole, find that it doesn't fit because there's about a 3 inch bulge in the middle that won't flatten cos it's made wrongly.
Cut a hole in it?...sorry you've used it !
